NEW ALBUM RELEASE COMING SOON
Debut solo album by Brett Dooley
The Long Road
A powerful story told in song, the debut solo album of local Tucsonan (Odessa, MO raised) Brett Dooley is an immensely personal work that nearly everyone can still relate to. “The Long Road” is a collection of memories, 8 songs that reflect some of the most vivid moments of Brett’s life. Finding love, losing friends, years in the military spent away from family and distant memories that have become lost. Struggles are laid bare and hopefully leave a sense of peace in the place turmoil. Eight songs and eight different moments and feelings. Some are positive and others not, but all reflect a genuine perception of reality. The album culminates with a common question that most will ask themselves at some point.
Brett approached this album using the instruments that felt the most like an extension of himself. The songs were written either on his acoustic guitar or piano, both of which have moved with him many times over the years. The final album tracks are still anchored by the recordings from these instruments, the foundation of the entire work.
“The Long Road” will be released on Friday, 3 February 2023 on all streaming platforms, and is available for purchase through Brett’s website: http://www.brettdooley.com. Brett will be performing around Arizona both with his band and by himself. CDs will also be for sale at all of his performances, posted on his calendar on his website as well as on social media.

Brett's Long Road
Artist Biography
Brett Dooley is an accomplished songwriter, singer, and multi-instrumentalist living in Tucson, AZ. Experimenting and growing throughout his music career, Brett has been a core performer in bands ranging from punk and hard rock to bluegrass, country and folk. As a singer, fans enjoy his energetic performances that carry the audience with him into the raw feelings of the songs.
Originally hailing from a small town in the farm country outside Kansas City, MO, Brett left the midwest for a decade of service in the US Navy. During these long years, Brett carved out time for music where he could. He found the laundry room of nuclear submarines an excellent practice room, and spent hours there playing a tiny traveler’s guitar while deployed. When he left the Navy, Brett immediately got to work on his music again, finding groups of like minded individuals to write and play with.
Years pass. Brett married and then became a father. As his life shifted and changed, Brett found that there were songs in his head that were much too personal to co-write with a band. Determined to realize his vision, he sat down with a guitar and a piano and began a journey that finally reached fruition 2 years later. Despite his musical history and influences, he wrote with no genre in mind. He focused on communicating feelings and raw emotions rather than a specific musical style.
Brett’s debut solo album, “The Long Road” is a summary of his life experiences condensed into 8 songs. He chose moments from his past that still resonate strongly in his mind today, re-immersed himself in those memories, and wrote the essence of those emotions into songs. The resulting album is a single story told in 8 chapters, each different than those preceding it, but still coming from the same voice and the same history.
